Race Recovery is a high-performance recovery drink designed to support rapid and complete recovery following intense training or competition. Developed as part of our Performance + range, this formula goes beyond muscle repair and targets the full recovery system, from glycogen and electrolyte restoration to gut health, inflammation control, and mitochondrial adaptation.

Each serve provides 29 grams of high-quality protein and 52 grams of carbohydrate, combining Cluster Dextrin®, organic cane sugar, and glucose. This dual-action blend rapidly restores glycogen while providing the amino acids necessary to stimulate muscle protein synthesis (MPS). The carbohydrate-to-protein ratio is intentionally designed to maximise uptake within the critical post-exercise window, where fuelling recovery can influence training outcomes, reduce muscle soreness, and restore hormonal and metabolic balance.

Carbohydrates consumed within 30–60 minutes post-exercise are used preferentially for glycogen replenishment. Delayed or inadequate refuelling has been associated with elevated cortisol levels, reduced muscle recovery, prolonged fatigue, and disruption of sex hormone levels. Protein, on the other hand, provides the amino acid building blocks for muscle repair, tendon recovery, and the stimulation of mitochondrial biogenesis – a key driver of improved oxidative capacity and endurance performance.

To address inflammation and immune health, Race Recovery includes prebiotic fibres to nourish beneficial gut bacteria. Fermentation of these fibres in the large intestine produces short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) such as butyrate, which play a critical role in regulating inflammation, supporting the gut barrier, and influencing post-exercise immune resilience. Additionally, we’ve included anthocyanin-rich New Zealand blackcurrant extract, shown to modulate oxidative stress, enhance adaptation pathways, and support mitochondrial function.

Electrolytes, including sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium, are included at performance-appropriate doses to help replace sweat losses and support rehydration. These minerals are essential for muscle contraction, nerve signalling, and cellular hydration, all of which contribute to sustained performance and recovery.

Recommended Use

Mix one serve into 450–500 ml of water and consume within 30 minutes post-exercise. Ideal after high-intensity or prolonged endurance sessions.

Weight-based servings:

This product uses a weight-based dosing system to better match the energy and protein needs of different body sizes and training demands. A standard one-size-fits-all serving may underdeliver or overdeliver based on bodyweight.
